We returned this year to one of Berlin’s finest inner-city festivals, Synästhesie, with a camera and a schedule of must-see artists in hand. Once again, 8MM Musik presented a line up ranging from iconic 90s acts to local up and coming bands. The festival ground differed from last year, with a new network of rooms spread across Prenzlauer Berg’s Kulturbrauerei complex. With festival goers braving the snow while moving between stages, the festival maintained its regular mix of old and young attendees all appreciating the vibrant mix of performances on offer.
In a city which is heavily dominated by electronic music, Synästhesie is a catalyst for bringing together the vibrant underground scene of bands and their fans into a well produced weekend of impressive music. With 8MM celebrating its 20th year in 2022, the festival and the scene that it serves are showing no sign of slowing down with attendance peaking and interest as high as ever for their curated line up.
