Silent Green became an otherworldly haven on 27th January as HJirok, the brainchild of vocalist Hani Mojtahedy and electronic maestro Andi Toma from Mouse on Mars, took the CTM stage. The atmosphere was charged, and as HJirok’s sonic narrative unfurled, Mojtahedy’s vocals, a divine blend of haunting resonance, reverberated through every inch of the room.
Addressing the devastating effects of climate change in the Iranian-Kurdish region, HJirok waves a narrative blending harsh political realities with a plea for change. HJirok, a water spirit amidst sonic waterfalls, symbolises the region’s plight.
In this fleeting concert, HJirok’s vocal alchemy, a sonic kaleidoscope, became a catalyst for introspection. Leaving the audience with more than echoes in their ears; they carried a unified message – freedom, environmental stewardship, and change are harmonies in the same composition.
