Singaporean Twins the(rest) Share Their Lockdown Inspired Playlist For HITCHER

Off the back of their debut release ‘Thin / Submarine’, Singapore-based duo the(rest) have shared a collection of music which has helped them through the past year spent on lockdown. Comprised of twin sisters Daphyne and Dionne, the(rest)’s music is the amalgamation of the two’s quiet introspective souls and loud inquisitive minds. The result is a unique kind of rock anomaly that can be loosely described as dreamy, offbeat and mellow. The duo came together when they discovered their common love for music that communicates the ineffable. Influenced by bands such as Warpaint and Slowdive, their sound has been characterised as enigmatic and melancholic. ‘Submarine’ optimizes the approach of the duo and journeys from a haunting and atmospheric mood to a fuzzed-out guitar end.
