Ross From Friends Announces New Album ‘Tread’ + Shares ‘The Daisy’ Visuals

British producer Felix Clary Weatherall aka Ross From Friends returns with ‘Tread’, his highly anticipated new album, due for release on 22nd October on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint – today releasing visuals for ‘The Daisy’.

On ‘Tread’, Ross From Friends dials up the intricate and emotive qualities of his production style. An artist who demonstrates an ever-increasing mastery of his craft, ‘Tread’ is a record that is at once sleek and melodic but also eminently danceable, nostalgic but brilliantly modern, with nods to sounds and styles that are not so much reflected but refracted and recontextualised through Clary Weatherall’s lens.

The visuals for ‘The Daisy’ are directed by Rudá Santos who explains “We follow a young girl on a time-warping journey as she becomes a speed-cuber. She must battle through all the step countdowns to reach her goal in time. The idea had always been to follow a kid through a speed-cubing competition. To make it fresh & enticing we added a conceptual layer to that narrative in order to give the cube and all its magical aspects some character. I’ve always thought the cube was a mysterious and fantastical object – so the idea to play with some of these sci-fi elements seemed very fitting and came naturally to me in the writing process. Having some of the UK’s best speedcubers acting in the video really helped us bring this vision to life. The goal was for it to function as both an ode to speedcubing as a sport as well as a thrilling and engaging short piece of its own.”
