Berlin Club Commission Predicts Nightlife Won’t Return Until Late 2022

Berlin Club Commission chairperson Pamela Schobeß has called for the local and state governments to continue their financial support beyond June 2021, stating that a return back to a pre-pandemic state will likely not come until the end of 2022.

In an interview with rbb24, Schobeß noted that events planned for March 2021 have already been postponed for 12 months, and called for continued financial support for when the Germany prepares to remove restrictions, adding: “It cannot go from zero to one hundred.”

Tresor’s Dimitri Hegemann is more optimistic, saying: “We operate precisely and calculate very hard. We are assuming further aid programs and hope that the sun will shine again in July [2021].”

Government support is currently secured until June 2021.
